Hi all-Just wanted to get your opinions on a situation, if you don't mind: If you are in a MA program and want to continue and do the PhD there, and when it's time to apply for the PhD you decide to ask for letters of recommendations from your current professors who teach there, is it a bad idea to also ask them for letters for other schools too? I sent my transcript through courier a few weeks ago and tracking it shows "the shipment has been received and signed for" but the application says the school hasn't received it yet.  I'm applying for the Master of Counseling program at my university soon and have taken the general GRE and am finishing up my personal statement. I feel pretty confident in those areas, but am still anxious as can be about my letters of recommendation. I also have some questions about GPA. I'm kind of a late bloomer. Last year, when I was already a senior, I declared a second major in radio/television/film critical studies. I'm taking an extra year of undergrad to finish that up, and expect to graduate in the spring. I graduated this May and will apply to graduate programs in math this fall. I already have letters from my honors advisor and a professor who sat on the hearing committee for my thesis.
